Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elmer Giroux, who passed away peacefully on July 6th, 2026, at the age of 84, in London, Ontario, at Mount Hope Centre on the Marian Villa side.

Elmer was born on November 16, 1941, in Sherbrooke, Quebec, to Gertrude and Oscar Giroux.

Throughout his life, Elmer was known for his love for music, his humour, and his love for his kids. He dedicated his life to his children and touched the lives of many through his kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family.

He worked at a pie factory and as a cleaner at a cemetery. During his career, he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.

In his free time, Elmer enjoyed watching old wrestling, watching the Montreal Canadiens, and playing country music.

Above all else, Elmer cherished his family. He is survived by:

● His children: Dean (Christina) and Darlene (Randy)
● His grandchildren: Joshua, Carson, and Hailey
● His siblings: Jeannie and Robert
● His nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.

Those who knew Elmer will remember him for his kind heart and lovingness to others. His legacy of love, strength, kindness, and devotion to his family will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care at Marion Villa for their care, compassion, and support during Elmer’s final days.

Elmer will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered by all whose lives he touched.
