It is with heartbreaking sadness that we share the passing of John Alan Daley, who slipped away from us on April 22, 2026, surrounded by his family. John will always be remembered as a passionate musician, a skillful guitarist and keyboardist, and lifelong performer. He passed his love for music onto his two cherished daughters, Alexandra and Andrea.
John will be remembered by the scores of students he taught over his 30 year career, in three different countries. John and Evelyn met each other as young teachers at Clarke Road Secondary School in London; a school from which lifelong friendships were made. As newlyweds, they ventured off to Malaysia to teach, before starting a family. John's dream of teaching abroad in retirement was realized in Trinidad and Tobago, a country he quickly fell in love with. The most rewarding chapter of his career, by far, was the two decades spent teaching Business Studies at Ingersoll District Collegiate Institute, in the community where John and Evelyn put down roots and raised their family. Although his retirement years have been cut short, they enjoyed numerous trips together, and squeezed in many adventures in the past seven years.
The outpouring of support has been overwhelming and the family wishes to thank everyone who has reached out. Jonny is survived by his wife, Evelyn Karmiris Daley, Alexandra Daley, Andrea (Ryan) Daley-Cooper, his mother Patricia Daley, pre-deceased by his father Alan Daley, sister Sandra (Gary) Malstrom, brother Peter (Kathe) Daley. He loved so many of you and he’d want to give his music brother Alan Lynch one last big hug.
Donations to United Way of Oxford are greatly appreciated.
Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at the Elmhurst Inn Carriage House in Ingersoll, from 2pm to 5pm.
