Obituary

It is with profound grief and sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Michelle Moffatt on April 21, 2026, two months before her 40th birthday.

Since she came into our lives at 7 months of age, Michelle has been loved by all who knew her. A compassionate and caring person, she loved animals, especially her cat "Pudpud", the many babies born into her extended family, and nature in general.

Michelle will be deeply missed by her father (Mike), her mother (Lynn), her brother (Tyler), her stepmom (Kim), stepsisters (Kaity, Krissy, Kelly, Klaire), her birth mother (Diane), birth sisters ( Kimberly, Genesis, Danielle), many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and other family members who loved her. Her closest friend, Denise, will have a huge void to fill in her life.

Michelle loved to fish but the "big one" always got away. She thoroughly enjoyed all her time at her 'happy place' in Turnbull's Grove and her several years in the scouting movement, becoming an active Rover in her later years. Following the New York Rangers was one of her favourite pastimes (rarely missing a televised game) and she often chatted both during and after the games with another big time fan, her dad. Unfortunately, she never got to see a game in the Big Apple but she did watch them live in Detroit several years ago.

Michelle's family asks that she be remembered for all the joy she brought to others not the emptiness caused by her passing.

A private celebration of life will be held in the near future.

Donations to Atlohsa Family Healing Services would be appreciated.

Born in the 1980's

A Cherokee Prayer (NA)

I give you this one thought to keep,
I'm with you still. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush.

Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not think of me as gone
I am with you still in each new dawn.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there I do not sleep.
Do not stand there at my grave and cry
I am not there I did not die.....
