It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dakota Nicholas Ryan Di Girolamo, who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 31.
Born on October 22, 1994, Dakota lived his life in London, Ontario, where he was known for his joyful spirit, kind heart, compassion for others, and deep love for animals. He had a passion for football and fishing and found peace and happiness in nature, especially while spending time outdoors.
Dakota shared a special bond with animals throughout his life. He dearly loved his mother's dog, Kaycee, who passed away in 2020, and his beloved cat, Little, who passed away in 2021. Their companionship brought him great comfort and joy, and they remained close to his heart always.
One of Dakota's greatest passions was advocating for mental health awareness. He cared deeply about supporting others and encouraging understanding, compassion, and open conversations surrounding mental health. His empathy and willingness to speak openly about life's challenges touched many lives and will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Dakota is lovingly remembered by his mother, Lori Fioroni; his father, Nick Di Girolamo (Wendy); his sister, Dylan Di Girolamo; his brother David Fioroni; his Nonna, Carla Ferrarese; as well as his extended family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, caring nature, and the love he shared with those around him.
Though his time with us was far too short, Dakota's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. May those who knew him find comfort in remembering his kindness, his passion for helping others, and the joy he found in simple moments spent with family, friends, animals, and nature.
In accordance with Dakota's wishes, there will be no funeral service. Family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate his life, share memories, and honor the lasting impact he made on those around him.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and forever dear."
May Dakota rest in peace. ❤️
A gentle soul with a heart full of kindness.

When I met him in California will never forget his curly blonde hair just like an angel. He was sweet and always smiling. Sad to experience this and I know that has a special seat in heaven.

Dakota came to my gym many years ago. He was ambitious and hard working in his pursuit to become a better athlete. More important than that, he was kind, caring, and always had a giant infectious smile on his face. I was very sorry to hear this news and give me deepest condolences to the family. Though I haven't seen him in a long time, I was saddened to hear that such a bright spirit is no longer with us.
