Date of Passing: Friday, October 2, 2026
Susan “Sue” Gordon peacefully passed away on October 2, 2026, surrounded by her family at the age of 65.
Born in Brampton, Ontario, to Keith and Barb, Sue was the middle child between her brothers, Gary and Rick. She attended Brock University and spent time as a stay at home and working mother to three daughters.
Those who knew Sue would describe her as empathetic, trustworthy, calm, generous, enthusiastic, caring, intelligent, and loving. The list goes on. She made a lasting impact on everyone she met throughout her life and brought joy and comfort to so many. Whether offering a listening ear or a reason to laugh, Sue was always there for those she loved.
Sue advocated for a better world through education and action. From adopting animals in need to supporting rescues and sanctuaries, Sue had a deep love and passion for animals and animal welfare. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, immersing herself in cultures from around the world including living in Germany, and spending cherished time with family and friends.
Pre-deceased by her father Keith, Sue will be dearly missed by her three daughters and their spouses; Michelle and Tyler, Laura and Jamie, and Alison and Hayden; her beloved granddaughter, Hannah; her mother, Barb; her brothers and their spouses, Rick and Gary and Louise; her nephew, Cam; as well as the loving father of her children Geoff, and his family; Andrew, Sam, and Mary.
Her kindness, wisdom, compassion, and unwavering love for those around her will be remembered always.
A Celebration of Life for Sue will be held on Sunday, October 18th, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Meaford Hall, 12 Nelson Street East, Meaford, Ontario N4L 1N6
K9 Safe Space is where Sue adopted her beloved dog, Ava. We'd love to recommend donations be sent to them in lieu of flowers.
Her kindness lives on in everyone she loved.
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, and across the sky flashed scenes from my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; One belonged to me, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before us, I looked back at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life, There was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life. This really bothered me, and I questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, You would walk with me all the way; But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why in times when I needed you the most, you should leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child. I love you, and I would never, never leave you during your times of trial and suffering. When you saw only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you.
